Below, you will find the course schedule (updated regularly) for October.

Week 6: October 2nd – October 9th

Please note that we do not have a face to face meeting on October 9th.

By October 9th at 5PM, please have completed the following work:

  1. Review the following Handout: Argument Basics
  2. View the TED Talk 5 Ways to Listen Better
  3. View the TED Talk Video: Perspective
  4. Complete Assignment #4
  5. Begin planning for the mid-term. This will be sent to you via email on Monday, October 7th and will be due on October 23rd

Week 7: October 9th to October 16th

Please note that we do not have a face to face meeting on October 16th.

by October 16th at 5PM, please have completed the following work:

  1. Review the following Handout: Argument Basics
  2. Watch the video on Deductive and Inductive Arguments
    • See video below, please.
  3. In your own words, define deductive and inductive arguments (no more than two sentences for each)
    • This will be brought to class with you on October 23rd.
  4. Continue working on your mid-term. This will be sent to you via emai and will be due on October 23rd

Week 8: October 23 to October 30th

During this class, we covered the following topics:

  • Deductive Vs Inductive Arguments
  • Logical Fallacies Overview
  • Logical Fallacies Project Introduction
  • Technology Introduction: Flipgrid
    • Our Flipgrid Class Code: crt1005fa
  • Mid-Term Conferences

The following work needs to be completed:

  • Work, with your partner(s) on the logical fallacies project. This will be presented on November 6th.
  • Assignment #4 can be found here
    • Google Doc: Work to be completed by 10/30 at 11:59PM
    • Flipgrid to be submitted by 10/30 at 11:59 PM
    • Reply to at least 3 different Flipgrid Responses by 11/2 at 11:59PM
  • If you were not in class on Wednesday, you should send me a message or email in order to see what you missed, as well as what your role is in the logical fallacies project.
